Greetings from Quebec! Early fall is in the air and bright red leaves have introduced themselves within the lush green deciduous forests of the far north-east. A beautiful sight! I have not seen a north-east fall in many years and I realize now how much I miss it!
The journey begins at the airport in Montreal. That's when you realize that you are indeed in another country. The signs are in French and English. In the airport, most people speak both languages but more than a few do not speak English fluently and the vast majority speak English with a strong French accent. I've been taking this trip annually now for 10 years of so. I never learned the language. Just saying that makes me feel like a stereotypical arrogant American. Of course, we're all Americans aren't we, both in the North and in the South.
This past month was very exciting at CCA. While of course we were involved with a wide array of teaching programs at both our Northern and Southern California locations, the highlight of the month was most certainly the Celebration of Ayurveda. The events began on June 14th with one of the most special puja ceremonies we have ever had at CCA.
The California College of Ayurveda is proud to announce its ayurvedic herbal preparation open to practitioners and patients wishing to order churnas (ayurvedic herbal powder), capsules, medicated oils or ghee, and other preparations.

If you were to look at a list of how many things you could do to improve our health and well-being, the thought of implementing all of them could make you sick! After all, how many things do you already know that would help you to feel healthier but you are not doing them? If your list is like mine, it’s pretty long and I’ve been implementing change in my life for the past 23 years!

As we approach summer, I look forward to seeing all of you at one or all of our upcoming special summer intensive courses. Many of you know that I teach the Ayurvedic Massage and Body Therapies Certification course. This course teaches you everything you need to begin offering Abhyanga, Shirodhara, and Svedana. This combination of therapies is often referred to a “Bliss” Therapy.
